ABS2000 Receives FDA Clearance

Bio-Tek Instruments, Inc., manufacturer of Bio-Analytical Instrumentation and Biomedical products, announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared the ABS2000 for marketing in the United States. When asked about the clearance, Adam L. Alpert, Vice President, Systems, stated that "In combination with Immucor’s quality blood banking reagents, the ABS2000 is the only competitive licensed automated instrument able to provide significant labor reduction while increasing productivity and patient safety". Commenting further, Mr. Alpert said "There are more than 2500 facilities in the US able to benefit from the quality and productivity improvements provided by the ABS2000. Placements of the ABS2000 in Canada and Europe already yield over 20,000 blood type test results every month."
